[Shenzhen, August 10] The “Smart Navigation Engine · Going Global” Fintech 3.0 Empowerment Salon, hosted by the Shenzhen Fintech Association, was held today in Shenzhen. More than 60 representatives from the financial and technology sectors across Shenzhen and Hong Kong gathered together, with delegates from ICBC, DBS Bank, HSBC, Bank of East Asia, Huawei, and other enterprises in attendance. The event featured in-depth discussions on topics including compliance risk control for tech companies going global, offshore financing, cross-border payments, and AI model risks. Representatives from the Futian District Financial Services and Risk Prevention Center also attended the event.
Renzo Liu, Vice President of Hi Sun Global (HSG), was invited to participate in the round table dialogue. Drawing on nearly 20 years of industry experience and the company’s own overseas expansion practices, he proposed a three-part framework of “Insights”:
> Insight 1: Opportunities – The global market is far broader than imagined.
> Insight 2: Challenges – Going global is not a simple “copy and paste.”
> Insight 3: Pathways – From “going out” to “going far.”
In his sharing, he reviewed HSG’s globalization journey. Since its listing in Hong Kong in 2001, the company has been dedicated to providing one-stop digital transformation services for banks worldwide. To date, HSG has served over 100 banking clients across more than 20 countries and regions, with business spanning Hong Kong, Macau, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East and Africa, offering full-stack solutions from core banking systems and mobile banking to payment systems. Following its strategic global expansion in 2020, the company established its headquarters in Hong Kong, set up an R&D center in Shenzhen, and built localized teams in Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, and other countries.
Building on the “Three Insights” framework, he shared a number of overseas client cases, vividly illustrating how HSG adapts China’s mature fintech expertise to local conditions in overseas markets, empowering local financial institutions to achieve digital transformation.
Toward the end of the round table dialogue, this industry veteran – who brings both experience with American multinational corporations and over a decade of deep involvement at Hi Sun – offered the following reflection:
“Chinese fintech companies have benefited from the rapid development dividends of the past decade or two in China. In terms of application scenarios, product solutions, and technological innovation, we are fully confident in competing head-to-head with traditional Western providers. But the journey from ‘going out’ to ‘standing firm’ and then to ‘going far’ requires technology companies, banks, and governments to jointly build an ecosystem, advance steadily, and tell the story of Chinese solutions and Chinese innovation.”
These words reflect not only HSG’s global expansion philosophy, but also the heartfelt voice of someone who has witnessed China’s fintech evolution from “bringing in” to “going global” – and they resonated deeply with all participants.
